Warning: this post is heavily scatalogical. Sorry about that…
The babies stopped pooing for over twenty four hours recently. My first thoughts were, slight anxiety about them not eating enough. Stuart’s first thoughts were, joy at not having to clean their bums at every nappy change,
Of course I Googled “4 week old babies poo frequency”. It turns out that at about this time their guts mature and they go from doing small poos with almost every nappy change (about 8 a day), to just one poo every 24 – 48 hours. The flip side to less frequent poo removal is that when it comes, it really comes. It’s quite remarkable – we’re talking explosive, drip down your leg, stain your sofa, get stuck between your toes poo.
Still, what it all really means is that the babies are happy, healthy and growing well.
